Stacey Abrams’ One Georgia Assembly will join Georgia’s 6th Congressional District Democrats in Forsyth County on Sunday, September 18. The event will take place at the FoCAL Center, Forsyth County Schools new voter-approved performance facility.

Constituents can meet with Georgia House and Senate candidates, 6th Congressional District candidate Bob Christian, local candidates, and hear from the next Governor of Georgia, Stacey Abrams.
Candidates from Georgia’s 6th Congressional District–made up of all of Dawson and Forsyth counties, and parts of Cobb, Cherokee, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties–will be on site to meet with voters.
We are aware that the Forsyth County Republican Party plans to protest at the event. Rest assured organizers are working closely with law enforcement for the safety of everyone involved.

Tickets to the Candidate Forum and One Georgia Assembly are free. Seating is limited and expected to sell out.
Dinner for Democracy supporting the Forsyth County Democrats will be held after the assembly. Tickets are available for a $100 donation per plate. Attendees will hear more from Georgia Democratic leaders and candidates.

Forsyth County Democrats Welcome Stacey Abrams September 18, 2022
Cumming, Georgia—The Forsyth County Democratic Committee will host gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams Sunday, September 18 at the FoCAL Arts Center. The One Georgia Assembly address will begin at 3 o’clock where Abrams and 6th Congressional District candidates will speak.
Several democratic leaders and candidates from across the 6th Congressional District will hold an open forum at 2 pm where voters can hear from candidates and collect campaign information.
Tickets for the One Georgia Assembly are free of charge on a first come, first-serve basis and are expected to sell out. Forsyth County Democrats are offering 1 ticket per adult with 2 tickets for persons 17 and younger available.
Committee Chairperson and Georgia 6th District Chair, Melissa Clink said, “The 6th Congressional District is worth fighting for. We are all in to expand the electorate and vote in Democratic candidates up and down the ticket. There has never been a more important moment to support pro choice candidates and we hope to showcase all the talented and intelligent candidates running for office in 2022”.
Candidates at all levels will speak about the overturning of Roe vs Wade which threatens people’s health and restricts bodily autonomy, climate change, affordable housing, accessible healthcare, gun safety, accurate accounting of history, and protection of intellectual freedom in schools at the event.
Clink said, “Forsyth County itself is in danger of maintaining its healthy and thriving school district if we don’t let enough voters know to choose Elaine Padgett in this election. Let’s keep divisive self serving candidates like her opponent as far away from the seats of power together and vote blue!”
Following the One Georgia Assembly, Forsyth County Democrats will host Dinner for Democracy to benefit the Forsyth County Democratic Committee.
